This reminds me a little bit of the Grant Hill Sprite ads from a few years ago. The “we’re not really advertising, but we ARE advertising” wink of the eye.

Ah!
Too funny!
My question here is are all those
products placed within this spoof
actual corporate sponsors for Comedy Central?

And Is this an actual “spoof” or some clever
trickster comedy that seeks to play both sides
so to speak?

I’m not sure.
Still though, Those cats from The State are great
And this was fun to watch

Keep pushing the message Mr. Rooshkoff

Cool. Funny though, I had to disable Adblock to view the video! ;p

Nice!

Thought of the book when I saw this story on the front page of Yahoo today: http://men.style.com/details/features/landing?id=content_9817. Perhaps you’ve already seen this guy’s blog?

This was succinct: “When I lived with money, I was always lacking. Money represents lack. Money represents things in the past (debt) and things in the future (credit), but money never represents what is present.”

Also very interesting to hear about his observations on the “modernization” of a village in the Andes.

i’ve never been sure just *which* sponsors are real. can he be sued for pretending to sponsor *some* of this stuff? After all, is not the burger king a sponsor?

when i was a soaking in the media stream, irony was irony and we were devo. now everything’s meta this and meta that. that’s what it’s like now: “I remember when we were going into outer space. I remember when the President said we were going to look for things in outer space. And I remember the way the astronauts talked and the way everybody was watching because there was a chance that they would burn up on the launching pad or that the rocket would take off from Cape Canaveral and land in Fort Lauderdale five minutes later by mistake. And now we’re not even trying to get _that_ far. Now it’s more like the bus. Now it’s more like they go up just high enough to get a good view. They aim the camera back down. They don’t aim the camera up. And then they take pictures and come right back and develop them. That’s what it’s like now. Now that’s what it’s like.”

I’m kind of confused by the fact that when I came to this website looking for information on how I could encourage meaningful connection with people, I saw a video that made me want to send a message an @message to Michael Showalter’s twitter. I even opened a new tab…

#12 Posted by Douglas (27.07.09 at 10:37 )

That’s a joke, too, right?
There’s plenty of meaningful connection stuff available here, too, under the Life Inc resources tab in the banner on top of the home page.

As for those sponsors in the sketch, I asked and yes, they are all real sponsors of the show. But I don’t know that they would love the coverage they were given in the sketch, and I know they did not know about it.

curiously awaiting the aformentioned and upcoming comic?! Any kind of projected release date approaching?

Yeah, it’s secret. A graphic novel for DC/Vertigo, coming out sometime next year, I guess. The artist is working on it.

But it’s secret so don’t say anything about it.
