Urban Renewal
While cities may have been built largely to support the needs of centralized capital and industry, they often did so at the expense of the people living there. Neighborhoods without political clout fell into neglect, and tended to lack the means to develop self-sustaining economies. Urban renewal and suburban renewal depend on new kinds of planning, as well as new educational and job-creation models. Those who have succeeded already are more than willing to share the stories of their successes, and serve as models for others.
